Internal Abyss highlights topics such as loneliness, depression and anxiety as well as domestic abuse. Domestic abuse is a subject which is whispered about, generalised and commonly misunderstood. Domestic abuse is not only physical, but this can also be through control, gaslighting, emotional abuse and intimidation.

Mia’s story explores the abuse and the toxic behaviours she is subject to, whether it be at home, in school or in her relationship with Aaron.
Inspired by true events, Internal Abyss aims to highlight these difficult topics but also the hope and strength of a better future. Those experiencing anything similar from the film should know that they are worth loving and that better days are coming.
